Meet the Doctors

Dr. Christian Yaste and Dr. Joseph Hufanda are founders of the Ballantyne Center for Dentistry, a premier cosmetic dentistry spa in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both doctors are committed to your best interests and can help you to develop a strategy for a lifetime of optimal dental health. Dr. Yaste and Dr. Hufanda are highly skilled practitioners of general and cosmetic dentistry, including sedation and laser dentistry using the state-of-the-art Waterlase® MD laser. They also enjoy providing patients with solutions to bad cosmetic dentistry, including failed crowns, veneers, and implants.

Both of our dentists have a distinctive blend of caring, artistic sense, conservative philosophy, and expertise. However, we are united by a commitment to looking at the big picture – of providing comprehensive care, rather than simply patching up your problems when they flare up. Our goal has been to bring high-end, lasting cosmetic dentistry to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Drs. Yaste and Hufanda are certified in oral sedation, laser dentistry, and the use of the CEREC® system for all-porcelain restorations. They are also members of the following professional organizations:

Dr. Christian Yaste

Dr. Christian Yaste, D.D.S. is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After graduating he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and completed a two-year postgraduate residency in Oral Medicine. Dr. Yaste is qualified in all areas of general dentistry and has had advanced training in cosmetic restorative procedures as well as oral medicine and pathology. He holds a faculty position at the Carolinas Medical Center Department of Dentistry, where he is a clinical instructor.

Dr. Joseph Hufanda

Dr. Joseph Hufanda, D.D.S. is also a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After graduation, he underwent three years of additional training with the Upper Peninsula Rural Health Services. Dr. Hufanda has completed continuing education courses in advanced full mouth rehabilitation and aesthetic restorative dentistry. He has a background in fine arts and has tutored clinical operative and prosthodontic applications at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
